Braves Blow-out Tigers, and Patriots Push pass Gators

By: Robert Barrilleaux, Jr

This double header began with the battle of north Terrebonne, as HL Bourgeois faced Terrebonne High.  The Braves who were favored in this match up by starting the evenings scoring with a familiar sight from last season, as Evan Ingram hit Christian Williams with a 45 yard TD pass. The Braves however were just getting started, as this was followed touch down runs by Christian and Caleb Williams, a 36 yard TD reception by Kerry Guidry, a QB sneak by Evan Ingram, and a three yard run by Steven Stewart.  All of this happened in the first half, where the Braves lead by a score of 41-0.

With the second half came much of the same, as Sean Harvey added to the Braves lead with a touchdown of his own. The only other score was a game ending interception for a touchdown, leaving the Braves on top by a score of 53-0.

Game #2

As the second game began you could tell that something was different, Ellender who for the past three or more seasons has been dominated by South Terrebonne was determined to prove otherwise tonight. Lead by their senior quarterback, Hosea Chatman’s, three touchdowns Ellender defeated the Gators in the Swamp by a score of 27-17.

Early in the game already down by three, Chatman started the Patriots scoring by hitting Jamal Nixon for an 80 yards touchdown pass. Then after a Gator fumble, Ellender’s Jonathan Guidry scored from about a yard out. After the two point conversion, the score stood at 14-3.

The Gators did not waist any time, and answered with touchdown from quarterback, Blake Martin, to receiver, Brandon Williams. With less than 4 minutes left in the half, it was now time for the Patriots to prove how real they were. They did not disappoint and came right back with another touchdown pass to lead at half by a score of 21-10.

In the second half each team scored a touchdown leaving the game with a final score of 27-17 (patriots).
