Boys Basketball Brackets Released; Two Girls Teams Still Alive. As the girl’s basketball playoff action is in full speed ahead, the boy’s playoff brackets were released today. Even with the great news of 6 local boys basketball teams making the playoffs, it cannot be over shadowed by the success Ellender and Vandebilt have had in their respective girls brackets so far. Both of these teams will be playing tomorrow (2/22) at their home gym. Congratulations goes to both of these for representing the Houma area very well. In boys action, four teams were named to the Division 5A playoff bracket, and all will be playing teams from a very solid district, district two. Ellender will be getting New Iberia (2-4), at home. Also playing at home is Thibodaux who will be hosting Lafayette(2-3). Central Lafourche will be traveling to Westgate (2-2). Finally Assumption will take on Barbe(2-1) on the road. In Division 4 and 3, E.D. White and Vandebilt were named to the playoffs. Vandebilt, after finishing second in district, will get a home game against LaGrange, who is also placed second in their respective district. E.D. White will take on Vermillion at their home gym sometime before 2/27. If you would like to find out the current date and game times, please contact the respective school.
