Thursday afternoon the Lady Tigers of Thibodaux entered the court of Lady Terriers of Vandebilt in Houma. There was a big showing from both schools. The cheerleaders from VCHS entered the gym and supported their Lady Terriers. With those sound u can tell it was definitely volleyball season.
The first game started and the Lady Terriers created themselves a early lead of 9-3. They both fought one until and Vandebillt extended their lead to 16-7 when The Lady Tigers broke the Lady Terries. Game one was controlled by Vandebilt. Vandebilt took game one 25-16. Vandebilts won the game from the service line.
Game number two started and Thibodaux came out very determined to pull the score back even to 1-1. Thibodaux took an early 1-3 lead. Then the Lady Terriers exploded into a 9-4 lead. The Lady Tigers countered and tied the Lady Terriers at 9-9 forcing VCHS into a T.O. The match basically went point for point until THS built a 21-17 lead and never looked back. Thibodaux took game two 25-19.
With the Lady Terriers and Lady Tiger tied 1-1 both teams were looking for the final two wins to close the night off. The game began and both teams were neck and neck until VCHS opened the game up and took a 21-15 lead forcing THS into a T.O. Vandebilt kept up the pace. Vandebilt also took game three 25-28.
Thibodaux realizing defeats was 25 points away knew that they would have to combat the offense and great play from the service line. Game #4 started much of the same way as Game #3 with both team going point for point until the Lady Terries started slipping and the Lady Tiger started to see some day light. Vandebilt decided to take a T.O. to break the rhythm of Thibodaux. Vandebilt took the lead back until Thibodaux tied it a 15-15. THS then went on a 4 point scoring spree. Then VCHS followed in the same fashion. With the game at 23-22 the Lady Terriers scored two straight points to bring it into game point. Thibodaux made a late effort the combat the Lady Terriers but it wasnt enough. They only managed to score one point. Vandebilt then came around with the final kill of the game to win it 25-23.
Game #4 was the hardest fought out of the four both teams made all of the right adjustments but The Lady Terriers prevailed. 3-1 was the final score.
