Lady Colonels Fall in Exhibition
The Nicholls Lady Colonels soccer team fell to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, 9-0, Sunday afternoon in an exhibition match at the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
The Lady Colonels received shot attempts from Sara West and Kelly Walsh. Freshman goalie Jenice Geare had four saves, while Sarah Neunzig had one save.
ULL's Lindsay Webb and Courtney Hofland led all scorers with three goals each.
Webb made the first two goals of the first half in the 30th and 35th minutes, and Erin Suckling followed with a goal four minutes later, to give the Cajuns a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
ULL went on to score six more goals in the second half, en route to the 9-0 victory.
Nicholls opens up the 2006 regular season on Friday, August 25 by hosting Louisiana Tech in game one of the First American Bank Invitational. Game time is set for 4 p.m. The tournament will continue through Sunday, with all games being played on the Nicholls Soccer Field.
