The Bulls are Back in Town

Are you ready to witness up close the adrenaline packed adventure sport that is sweeping theautographs.jpg nation?  Then get ready to “cowboy up” as St. Martin & Williams presents the 5th Annual Coors/ Coors Light Fear No Evil Bull Riding Challenge brought to you by Houma Tractor and the US Army. It will return to the Houma Civic Center on Saturday, January 21 at 7:30pm.

This bull-bucking, clown-tossing, dirt-flying event will feature over 40 local, regional and national bull riders who will challenge the bulls to an eight-second ride to secure their place in the short round showdown. When the dust settles, ten riders rise above the rest and try for another 8-second dance. Only one will master the beast for a cash purse.

The event also includes a free post-event live music concert. Many of the bull riders will also be available after the event for autographs.

Although the main event starts at 7:30pm, the Fear No Evil Bull Riding Challenge offers a fun-filled day of family-oriented activities featuring the Terrebonne Parish 4H’s livestock show, livestock sale and their beef, egg and poultry-cooking contest.

The livestock show, featuring animals raised and cared for by local 4-H members, will begin at 8am and the sale will begin at noon in the arena.  The show and sale are free to both purchasers and spectators.  The sale will include market steers, hogs, sheep, goats and chickens.  For more information on the livestock show or cookery contest, contact Shaney Hill at 985-873-6495.

The Fear No Evil Bull Riding Challenge has seen much success over its five-year existence at the clown and bull fighter.jpgHouma Civic Center. The last three years it has sold out with nearly 4,000 people in attendance. The event is produced locally by AZR Productions in partnership with the Harper Morgan Rodeo Company. It is financed by the support of St. Martin and Williams, Crescent Crown Distributing, Houma Tractor, US Army, Pepsi, Red Fish Rental, FROCCO Amphibious Equipment, Dean Equipment, Caillou Island Towing and many other local companies.

“We are very thankful that so many local companies continue to step up and help us host this event,” said Randy Blanchard of AZR Productions. “Their support allows us to do two things. One is to keep our ticket prices low enough so a full family can attend, and it allows us to continue to provide this event that has become a vital stepping-stone for many young bull riders into the national circuits. Many riders that have competed in our bull riding competitions, have gone on to ride in the national PRCA and PBR circuits. Take for instance, DJ Domangue of Shriever who is now ranked 13th in the World for PRCA and is currently competing in the Vegas Finals.”

Tickets for the Fear No Evil Bull Riding Challenge are $18, $14 or $10 when purchased in advance.

Tickets will also be available the day of show for $20, $16 or $12. Kids 12 and under receive a $2 discount. All tickets are subject to service charges.

Tickets can be purchased at the Civic Center Box Office, Monday-Friday, from 9am-6pm.; at any Ticketmaster outlet; charge by phone at 504-522-5555 or order online at www.ticketmaster.com.
