The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Nicholls State University is assisting business owners in applying for disaster loans.
Business owners who suffered property damage or a loss of revenue from Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita may be eligible for federal disaster assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Program.
The Louisiana Small Business Development Center has partnered with the South Louisiana Economic Council and is assisted by other business support organizations to offer disaster relief workshops and counseling assistance for business owners. Disaster relief counseling and assistance in applying for SBA Business Property Damage and Economic Injury Disaster Loans will be offered through a combination of workshops and individual counseling. The workshops will be conducted periodically throughout Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Terrebonne parishes. Most of the counseling and application review will be conducted at the Business Transition Center located at the Louisiana Technical College at 1425 Tiger Drive in Thibodaux.
To register for a workshop call 1 (866) 782-4159. Admission is free. Visit www.lsbdc.org for schedules and more information about the local SBDC or visit www.businessrebuilding.org to view the financial assistance community calendar.
