Baton Rouge, Louisiana –The Louisiana Legislative Women’s Caucus is now accepting nominations for the LLWC Women of Excellence Awards.  The Women’s Caucus created the award to recognize and honor the professional excellence, achievements and contributions of extraordinary women who personify excellence in their area of specialty, integrity, character, community service and professionalism.  Categories to which individuals may be nominated are:  Business, Education & Research, Health & Medicine, Law & Justice, Volunteerism & Civic Involvement and Young Woman of Excellence (ages 16 to 23). 

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Women's Caucus website at http://llwc.louisiana.gov.   The forms are due in the Women's Caucus Office by 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007.  Nomination packages must include the following items:

1. Nomination Form
2. Nominee's Resume & Biography–detailing the nominee's background, accomplishments and contributions
3. Award Criteria Narrative–a description of specific accomplishments that demonstrate professional excellence in the specified category for which the individual is being nominated, community service activities or organizational involvement and a statement detailing the nominator's familiarity with the nominee
4. Supporting Material–copies of news and magazine articles written by or about the nominee and one letter of support from other individuals who can personally attest to the accomplishments for which the nominee is being nominated
5. Photo– 3" wide, 300 dpi, TIF or EPS format.   Also accepted are JPG files, however these must be expandable to 300 dpi and should not be low resolution.
 
Nomination packages should be mailed to:  Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus, Attn.:  Women of Excellence Awards' Committee, Post Office Box 44188, Baton Rouge, Louisiana  70804-4188. After nomination packages are received, the Women of Excellence Awards' Committee will review and select the award recipients. The awards will be presented at the LLWC Women of Excellence Awards Gala at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center on Friday, November 30, 2007.
