HOLIDAY GALA TO BENEFIT 9TH ANNUAL JUBILEE FEST AT NICHOLLS
THIBODAUX – Start the holiday season right with fine dining and music at the annual Nicholls State University Jubilee Christmas fundraiser from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
The event serves as both a fundraiser for the spring Jubilee festival and an elegant way to relax and enjoy the arts before the stress of the holiday season, Angela Hammerli, Jubilee coordinator, said.
Musicians Dr. Stanley Coleman, Lynn Jackson and Mary Ann Hoffmann will be joined by several Nicholls music students to provide entertainment. The Chef John Folse Culinary Institute will prepare a light buffet of braised pork loin, crawfish and andouille pasta, smothered green beans, assorted cheeses, crudités, basil aioli, fresh fruit, French cream dip, assorted petits fours and pastries, coffee, wines and champagne punch. The evening will also include a silent auction.
The 2007 Jubilee: A Festival of the Arts and Humanities, planned for March 15 to April 24, is a month-long festival at Nicholls State University that brings together the community to share in a variety of scholarly, cultural and artistic attractions of regional, national and international acclaim. Scheduled performances include plays, musical performances, culinary workshops, art exhibitions, literary and historical presentations, scientific discussions and a folklife festival.
The semi-formal fundraiser will be held at the home of Rep. Gordon and Mona Dove, located at #5 Highway 311 in Houma. Tickets are $60 per person, with $45 of the purchase price tax deductible. A limited number of tickets are available and must be purchased by Tuesday, Nov. 28. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Angela Hammerli at (985) 448-4272.
