Scott Branting, MD, Board Certified Anesthesiologist Joins TGMC Active Medical Staff

 

 

Scott Branting, M.D., a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, was recently appointed to the active medical staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC).

 

Dr. Branting received his medical training from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.  He completed his residency in anesthesia and internship in internal medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation.  He then completed a fellowship in pain management at the Virginia Mason Clinic in Seattle, Washington.

 

He has conducted research and bibliographies on a variety of topics throughout his medical training including topics such as the development of optical sensors for transition metals and low volume neurolytic celiac plexus block.

 

During his medical and undergraduate schooling, Dr. Branting was awarded several honors including the Louis George Hoff Memorial Scholarship, Alpha Epsilon Delta Vice President, Stanley Tarbell Prize for outstanding student in organic chemistry, Order of Gownsmen Honor Society and the Class of 1935 Prize for improvement in organic chemistry.  He also graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee cum laude in Chemistry. 

 

Dr. Branting is a resident member of the American and Louisiana Society of Anesthesiologists, a resident member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and a resident member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Jefferson Parish Medical Society.  In addition, he is a member of the AMA Medical Student Section and the Surgery Interest Group.  In the fall of this year he will take the  pain management board examination.
