Earn College Credit in High School through NSU Program

High school students graduating in 2007 can begin their university studies for a reduced price beginning this summer in the Nicholls State University dual enrollment program.

To earn college credits while still in high school, students need to be on track to complete the TOPS core curriculum and have either a 2.0 cumulative grade point average, or a 20 composite score on the ACT test or rank in the top 50 percent of their class. Students must also meet prerequisites for the course or courses in which they wish to enroll. Courses can be taken in any format, including on campus and online, during the summer, fall or spring semesters.

The cost for high school students to participate is $100 per credit hour up to six hours, but all students will also be awarded a scholarship that covers half of the tuition. Laboratory and vehicle decal fees still apply.

Students applying to the dual enrollment program do not pay a university application fee. Visit www.nicholls.edu/apply to apply online. For more information, call the Office of Admissions at (985) 448-4507 or 1 (877) NICHOLLS.
